So, having a cold and needing to blow one's nose is already not fun, right? It's annoying and icky. Imagine, however, if only a couple days prior to catching said cold you are at a church activity throwing a frisbee around and end up catching said frisbee with your nose. Yes, I got owned by a frisbee. Although the nose didn't break, it did bruise, so it was completely miserable the first couple of days of the cold because I was in utter pain everytime I needed to relieve my sinuses.
Sorry, TMI. But I needed to vent. Today, we had a girly Pride and Prejudice movie day. We watched the *whole* BBC version in preparation for Becoming Jane. It was way exciting. My favorite part: The look he gives her at the piano! I want a man who will look at me that way. And I want to be able to look back at him the same way she did. Okay, so only true Jane Austen fans know what I'm talking about here, but Oh My Gosh! "THE LOOK." This is why girly movies are so bad. They destroy reality and now I can never be satisfied unless a guy possesses all of these impossible qualities. In high school, I *always* listened to the slow, sappy love songs and watched romantic comedies. The romantic comedies even continued through college. Now I find that I can't watch them as often because they make me feel all warm and fuzzy for a few minutes (i.e. "I want to dance in the middle of a street in Paris and kiss a boy while it's raining...." my MP girls know what I'm talking about here) until I realize how unrealistic they are and that I shouldn't hold my breath. Then I get in a no-fun pessimistic mood. However, I can get out of that pessimistic mood by thinking of "THE LOOK." That said, it was a really fun movie day, minus the sweltering heat, lack of air conditioning, and minor power malfunction right before show time! I hope to have more girly get-togethers more often!
