...but probably because I'm not original. I realized that I haven't posted in a while but my life hasn't been too eventful....not much to post about. We've had a couple LOTR movie nights. Pretty fun. The first one had a pretty good turnout. The second one was a little disappointing but I didn't send out texts to invite some people so that probably diminished the numbers a bit. Next time. I'm looking forward to the finale.
I love Fall. I think it is my favorite season because I love the brisk air, I love the holidays, I love how hot chocolate is the best thing on the planet, I love sweaters, and I love how much more inviting cuddling seems (although that's inviting during any season). I went Christmas shopping the day after Black Friday....still a little crazy (there weren't as many people but some stores were in complete disarray). By the time I got back, I was so burnt out. I went to the Getty with some friends, which was great and I love the Getty, but 1.5 hour attention span that day I think because I was so burnt out (and I had already seen this one exhibit we went to).
Work continues to be crazy. I've already complained about my impending Wednesday to anyone who will listen. This is my coming Wednesday: 9am, 20 year-old rape victim; 10am, intake with a domestic violence perpetrator; 12pm, 18 year-old girl with depression in an abusive relationship; 1pm, 50-year-old grandma with health problems taking care of her teenage grandson; 2pm, evaluation; 3:30, 14 year old who drinks and smokes pot at school and doesn't get along with her dad; 4:45, parenting education (I mainly just sit in on this one, but some of those guys wear me out just listening to them!). I think I will die. Today I had some decent sessions. I hadn't eaten well today so I think that affected my ability to really be there for people. I don't even know when I'll have time to eat on Wednesday. I guess this is why my career tends to have high burnout. It's comforting to know that Fridays are really laid-back (only two clients that day...lots of time to finish that paperwork). Regardless, I still love what I'm doing and I'm really learning a lot. I love my coworkers. They make it a really great experience and I don't know how much I would have been able to learn on my own.
