Day 4: Sorrento

During Day 4, I opted to take the scenic busride up the Amalfi Coast. It was scary, because it was a windy drive against a steep cliff in a bus. Not to mention the bus was just barreling through the curves. One thing I learned though: in Italy, honking is a friendly, "hello I'm coming" gesture. The buses always honked as they were coming around the corner, I think to warn cars that a huge bus was coming around the bend. What was weird to me though, was that as this huge bus was barreling around a corner, even people on those little scooters, and one the side of certain doom if one wrong turn was taken, didn't even flinch at the buses. I would at the very least look surprised.

Beach in Amalfi

Those Italians have a sense of humor.

This was the view from one of my tour mate's balcony.

Positano, where a lot of rich people live. Apparently celebrities have summer homes here although I didn't see any. I did see an old woman with some young, strapping pool-boy type holding an umbrella over her head. This town was also in Under the Tuscan Sun.
