England: Day 1

After a long journey to London, we arrived ahead of schedule and figured out how to get to our hostel. By the time we arrived and settled in, it was about 4:00pm and we learned at this moment that everything closes early in London!  Like, by 6.  So we just picked something random to do for an hour and that was Kensington Palace.  As we were rushing over, it started raining like mad and so we made a pit stop in H&M and got umbrellas.  I'm glad we got that one out of the way because out of all the palaces, this one was the least exciting, especially since they had some weird Princess thing going on.

Kensington Palace - under construction.  This turned out to be the theme of a lot of places we went.

Some pretty gardens in front of Kensington Palace - can you tell it's raining like mad?

Pretty.

Dress worn by Princess Diana.

Creepy Tree Child.  The whole palace was dimly lit and there were creepy voices in the background, and the whole experience was just a little weird and this picture just symbolizes how weird this palace was.

Me in a throne.

Something about a princess fleeing away from some abusive husband or something.
Afterwards, we were pretty tired so we got a sandwich at the grocery store (also turned into another theme of the trip) and went to bed!

Wow. If you said princesses in England to me, the first word I would think of would not be creepy... until now...

But STILL... ENGLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
