England: The Last Day

The last day in England, aka the Travel Home Day was beset by many trials:
  • Alarm going off at 2:30am, which we didn't realize until AFTER we had showered, finished packing, and even put on our makeup.
  • Flight to Texas delayed by 2.5 hours, causing the next problem
  • Missed connections to a total of 3 flights that would have gotten us back to LA
  • After we had landed in Texas and gotten our connecting flight, THAT flight was delayed by an hour.
  • Fighting the urge to pass out while standing while waiting for our gracious friend to pick us up from the airport, while she was caught in terrible traffic of course.
Needless to say we were very glad to be back!

Anyway, here is the England summary, followed by a random picture that didn't make it anywhere else in the blog:
  •  Food: not the reason to go to England
  •  Men: I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that not all men had British Teeth. Hotter than Italian men, many on par with Costa Rican men with the advantage of being taller on average.
  •  History: Fascinating
  •  Architecture: On par with Italy - beautiful cathedrals and even several everyday functional buildings had some pizazz.
  •  Art / Culture: Highly Recommended.
  •  Scenery: the gardens are fabulous - would have loved to have seen more of the countryside.
  •  Nightlife: If you are a clubber/pubber I'm sure it's great!  If you want to go to a museum, then sorry!
  •  Fashion: I'm not a fashionista at all, but England made me wish I had the time and money to shop in all of the little boutiques.  A lot of classy clothes!
